Yuga Labs co-founder has said he will leave his duties at the company. According to his post Wylie Aronow said that he is leaving his position to focus on his himself. In addition, Aronow announced that he was recently diagnosed with a heart comdition. With this, he will focus on himself and try to get better while helping Yuga Labs from behind the scenes.
Yuga Labs boss to focus on his health
Yuga Labs is the company behind famous crypto projects BAYC and CryptoPunks. Aronow mentioned that the absence was necessary due to the symptoms he had been feeling over the last few days. He noted that when the symptoms started appearing, he refused to go for a medical check-up while dismissing it.
However, after recent consultations with medical experts, Aronow has chosen to take this step and allow people fit enough to run the project for the time being. He mentioned that although he can still live like a normal human being, adding his work to his worries would constitute a health hazard for him in the long run. Meanwhile, the Yuga Labs co-founder did not specify a date that he would likely return to his role with the company.
Aronow set to take up a board role
The Yuga Labs co-founder in his thread also confirmed that he will now assume a role on the board of directors following his decision. This is not the first time that Aronow has had to leave work to focus on himself. He mentioned that during his twenties, he had an illness that stalled his career for a long time. However, things started got back on the right track some years before he co-founded Yuga Labs, and it has been smooth sailing ever since.
He chose to bury himself in work because he wanted to use his time well. The co-founder said he worked mostly every day with little rest because he ignored friends and family advice to rest. The Yuga Labs boss said he wants to focus on his himself and get the best care across the country to heal. He also promised to lend a hand to the new CEO who is set to take charge soon. Although he did not buttress his new role, Aronow is now focusing on helping creators earn more royalties from NFTs.
