UFC NFT collection drops in partnership with crypto.com

American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company based in Las Vegas, Ultimate Fighting Championship, have partnered alongside crypto trading and payments firm Crypto.com to authorize the combat sport first nonfungible token (NFT).

Back in July, reports emerged on Crypto.com partnering with UFC in a ten-year deal worth $175 million. During a press conference at Madison Square Garden in New York City, UFC president Dana White announced the agreement, which he said was the organization’s largest sponsorship deal to date.

Crypto.com announced the launch on Tuesday, noting that the series would feature UFC digital collectibles that showcase fight night artwork, event posters, championship belts, and athlete profiles.

The first set of Nonfungibles to go live on Thursday are the “UFC 268 Packs” It features the upcoming match between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington and is represented by its event fight posters and belt designs. The NFTs will be accessible for purchase to fans “while supplies last.”

Tracey Bleszinski, the UFC’s senior vice president of Global Consumer Products, believes NFTs are a great way for fans to connect with the UFC brand. “NFTs are an exciting expansion of the martial sports strong collectible marketplace and an innovative and authentic way for our passionate fans to stay connected to the brand,” Bleszinski said in a statement.

UFC, Crypto.com partnership, another integration of crypto and sports industry

The partnership is another significant integration between both industries. The crypto firm particularly has brought to life many partnerships with a series of other platforms.

The crypto firm are said to be interested in the worldwide fan base of the sports platform, which has over 625 million followers around the world.

Crypto.com recently sealed a partnership with Matt Damon, an actor for his blockbuster movies such as Elysium, The Bourne series, and many more.

Speaking on their partnership, Crypto.com co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek said, “UFC is a premier global sports brand with legions of avid fans worldwide, and we’re excited to leverage our technology to provide unique fan engagement opportunities and security for their collectibles.
