Vedomosti.ru, an outlet of Russian news reported that Telegram’s Open Network has moved into private beta. This will give the beta testers and programmers access to the massively publicized cryptocurrency project.

The venue has given two references where access has been given to beta network yet the details of how the testing looks like are ambiguous.

In addition, there have been talks about the development of Telegram Open Network (TON) since 2018 when its ICO set records when it raised to 1.7 billion in 2018. Since that time the progress has been slow and any bonafide development of TON is awaited.

Telegram is intending to purchase its massive user base unlike Ethereum, NEO, or Tron, that allow users to have decentralized applications powered by the Gram token. Gram has the potential to become one of the most valuable cryptocurrency if it sustains its ICO market capitalization. The reason why people have an interest in this project is that it seems to be capable of getting the position of top 10 or top 5 cryptocurrencies if it delivered results.

According to reports t in order to remain valid, gram must have launched for token purchase agreements by the end of March. By starting in March would have given gram 6 months for completion. It also stated that reports of a testnet are encouraging.

On the other hand, another outlet, Profile.ru says that it is not the right time to talk about testnet results since the testing of blockchain code and smart contracts is still not done.

Earlier this year, telegram sought to shut down one of its business registrations in Britain which raised many eyebrows possibly as a response to rule changes in the British Virgin Islands.

Moreover, Telegram is also banned in Russia. It was banned when the company refused to cooperate with an FSB ( Russia’s Intelligence)application for helping coded conversations between the users. Although the app is popular in other places and has proved to be helpful for thousand of cryptocurrency users groups.

It was also reported in February this year that the blockchain was 90 percent completed and a testnet was expected in March but then no test happened.

The testnet is still not accessible to anyone, however, according to Russian sources a private beta is opened and surprisingly telegram gave Russians the access despite the fact that Russians banned it. Gram has potential to see heavy trading if once it goes live.
