DAS successfully arrested individuals involved in the crime, revealing 300 stolen Bitcoin (BTC) mining rigs.
In April, the culprits stole mining rigs at the Arimar farm in the Alfredo Pla neighborhood of Presidente Franco, Alto Parana. According to the report, a group of a dozen hooded and armed individuals committed the crime of stealing 492 mining machines.
This month, the DAS raided a commercial property in Presidente Franco. During the operation, they successfully seized 300 mining rigs from the premises and a collection of cellular devices, firearms, and ammunition. As a result of the process, law enforcement arrested and charged a single individual with aggravated assault.
The police are still working to recover the remaining 192 stolen mining rigs. They stated that approximately twelve hooded individuals carefully planned and executed the theft.
The incident occurred at the Alto Paraná farm, where the attackers launched their assault and managed to escape with the mining rigs. The police are actively investigating the matter to apprehend the culprits and retrieve the stolen equipment.
Surprisingly, when the police captured the criminal, the 300 Bitcoin mining machines they recovered were connected to a power outlet and the internet.
The Paraguay government’s efforts to persuade the country’s president to authorize BTC mining have faced significant resistance. The president, in particular, has adamantly declined to permit Bitcoin mining despite numerous appeals.
One of the primary factors attracting many BTC miners to Paraguay is the nation’s abundance of hydroelectric power.
Authorities seized weapons and ammunition discovered at the scene and successfully apprehended a man identified as Arnaldo Ohe Martínez. The owner of the farm, Víctor Meaurio, has also been positively identified.
