MILANO, ITALY, 11th May, 2022, Chainwire

Today, the Cortesi Gallery announces a curatorial exhibition at the world-renowned modern and contemporary art exhibition ArteFiera from May 12 – 15, 2022. The exhibit will feature prominent generative artists, including Stefano Contiero, Ben Kovach, and Jeff ippsketch. Physical prints of the generative artworks and a generative art drop will be displayed on a digital screen where visitors can interact with the art before minting. All digital artworks in the gallery are minted on the energy-efficient Tezos blockchain.

Every NFT will be displayed on cverso.io, a new curated generative art platform that will serve the gallery during physical exhibitions.

Together with these three great young artists, there will be exhibited artworks by herman de vries. He is considered a pioneer of the approach to random mathematical and statistical formulas within art. As early as 1962, he began experimenting with creating his works by following a statistical table with which he decided the pattern of the positioning of elements on the work in a random manner.

There is a strong dialogue between the works of herman de vries and those of these generative art artists, who, thanks to technological progress, have a wide selection of tools to create their art by delineating the range of various parameters to achieve the aesthetic result they prefer.

These parameters, chosen by the artist, generate a series of works with similarities but different from each other with extremely gratifying aesthetic results. Any programmer would never be able to write such codes to create works of art of this level; they are artists and only then programmers. Codes and the ability to program are the artist’s tools, just as a chisel or a paintbrush might be.

C-VERSO

At the beginning of 2022, Cortesi Gallery announced a new branch of its artistic research: C-VERSO. This new section is focused on NFTs projects and Crypto Fine Art.

This idea was born from the desire to introduce and support collectors interested in NFTs. It’s been almost a year since NFTs have become part of everyday vocabulary in the Art World; Cortesi Gallery has always been interested in this innovation and technology.

Crypto Art cannot be considered only as an artistic movement but rather a cultural movement that implies a more profound knowledge of its rules and how it works.

The Gallery challenge is to present something complicated in a manageable and interesting way for our audience.

Furthermore, C-VERSO will launch a series of initiatives and collaborations between those, a new platform on the energy-efficient Tezos blockchain, to mint generative art NFTs during curated exhibitions, art fairs, and our galleries.

C-VERSO’s platform will be fundamental to developing future physical exhibitions; the aim will create dialogues between generative art and post-war artists who worked with programmed, kinetic and randomized art in the last 60 years.
